Example schedule for a 13u Rhino player throughout the year

FALL

September 5th - start of Fall training

Practices 2x a week

October 25th - end of Fall training

Total of 16 practice sessions

Focus is on getting faster and stronger along with defensive and hitting work. 

 

WINTER (segment 1)

November 6th - X Test to get a baseline of athletic measurements

November 9th - start of winter training (segment 1)

Practices 4x a week

December 18 - end of winter training (segment 1)

Total of 22 practice sessions

Focus is on getting faster and stronger along with defensive and hitting work. Arms are shut down. 

 

WINTER (segment 2)

January 3rd - Start of winter training (segment 2)

Practices 3x a week (2 instructional and 1 team practice)

April 1st - end of winter training 

Total of 38 practice sessions

Focus is on refining the swing and throwing mechanics in the beggining of the segment.  As we progress we begin to ready arms and swing for the playing season. This means seeing more velocity as a hitter and gradually increasing pitch counts for arms to be ready. 

 

SPRING/SUMMER

April 9th - Start of spring/summer training

Practices 2x a week

June 28th - end of spring/summer training

Total of 24 practice sessions

Focus is on arm care/recovery, stamina and swing adjustments. 

 

TOTAL NUMBER OF PRACTICE SESSIONS THROUGHOUT YEAR: 100!
