IMG 0636

Jake Dirksen, a 2019 RHP from Oswego East, has verbally committed to Kalamazoo Valley CC.

On the mound, Jake is extremely athletic and can get his fastball into the low 80's.

He was a huge contributor in Rhino Baseball's fall team finishing in the top 16 at the WWBA Kernals Foundation Championship. He started game 1 and pitched a complete game shutout.

Kalamazoo Valley has taken a liking to Rhino Baseball players as Jake will be follwing in the footsteps of Rhino alumns Cody McArthur, Pat McGowan, Scott Alroth and Jimmy Cook (NJCAA Region 12 Rawlings Gold Glove Award winner).

Jake will be coached by Cody Piechocki who will be in his seventh season at KVCC. In 2016 he saw his team ranked as high as #19 in the NJCAA DII Poll.

Coach Piechocki also is going into his 3rd year as the Field Manager of the Kalamazoo Growlers of the pretigious Northwoods League. He coached Rhino alum Anthony Cocco last year with the Growlers. The NWL is considered one of the top summer college leagues in the country for players.

With Jake's comittment he becomes the 20th Rhino player in the 2019 class to commit and the 137th player since 2013.

Congrats Jake!
