IMG 1377

Tyler Struck, a 2019 catcher from Providence Catholic HS, has verbally committed to Valparaiso University.

Tyler has been in our program since he was 14 years old. We have been able to see him grow into a great young man who works very hard at his craft.

Not only is he a hard worker on the baseball side but he also sports a 4.0 GPA and 34 ACT.

Tyler has worked hard over the last couple of years adding strength and he has one of the stronger arms behind the dish in the area.

While at Valpo Tyler will be coached by Brian Schmack who is in his 6th year as head coach at Valpo.

Valpo competes in the Missouri Valley Conference with the likes of Indiana State, Dallas Baptist, Illinois State, Southern Illinois, Bradley, Evansville and Missouri State.

Tyler was given a 8.5 grade by Perfect Game and named to the 2017 Great Lakes Showcase Top Prospect List.

PG also has him ranked as the 9th best catcher in Illinois and 89th overall player.

Tyler had some very hard decisions to make with the opportunities that he had in front of him, but at the end of the day he decided to choose the best academic and athletic route for himself.

Couldn't be more proud of Tyler and excited to see him continue to grow and prosper as a young man.

Congrats!
