Rhino Baseball to be Presented with the Pitch & Hit Club Amateur Baseball Service Award!
Nov 30

Parents, players and those who have supported Rhino Baseball the last few years:

Rhino Baseball has been voted in by the Pitch and Hit Club for the Len DiForte Amateur Baseball Service Award!

This award is presented to an organization or person that shows strong leadership and competitiveness in youth baseball. It is named after Len DiForte, who has devoted a large part of his life to coaching, managing and promoting Amateur Baseball including being a State Director of CABA, North Zone Director of PONY baseball and still an active member with the American Baseball Coaches Association.

The mission of the Pitch and Hit Club is to be a preeminent baseball organization by recognizing  and honoring the achievements of those in the baseball community. It was formed in 1942 by a group of Major League players and scouts and continues to grow substantially each year.

Other awards include Sportswriter of the Year, Chicago Area MLB Player of the Year, MLB Manager of the Year, Chicago Area Minor League Player of the Year, Scout of the Year and Courage Award among many others.

Some previous year recipients and honorees include legends and well known names such as Tony LaRussa, Goose Gossage, Mike Rizzo, Curtis Granderson, Pat Disabato, Neal Cotts, Andre Dawson and Jim Hall just to name a few.

Rhino Baseball and its trainers and coaches have devoted the last few years to build an organization that encompasses everything a player could want or need in their travel baseball program.

Players receive full year training during the fall, winter and summer months including an arm care and strengthening program, opportunities to come to four practices a week, professional hitting and pitching coaches, speed, strength and agility training, college recruiting services, private indoor facility with year round access, defensive breakouts, mental training, and performance testing.

One thing, along with the amount of training that players receive, that sets Rhino Baseball apart from other organizations is the personable management and staff that are always available to their players. These integral people of the program work every day to make it a place that not only focuses on improving players in terms of baseball but also making them good young men. This, in addition to the over 100 tournament championships appearances and nearly 50 players going onto play baseball collegiately, is what has made Rhino Baseball one of the, if not the best, travel program in the area.

We could not thank enough the wonderful families, players and those who have been a large part of the growth of this program for their support. This award is as much your as it is Greg, Andrew, or Brian’s.

Thank you!
