Matt Sonntag, a 2016 LHP from Crete Monee HS, has verbally committed to Valparaiso University!

On the mound Matt can get it up to mid 80's and has the makings of a very good curveball. While at Crete Monee, Matt was also one of their top hitters, showing his athleticism.

Matt had numerous college oportunities but he had a very small list of schools he wanted to attend based on his very high academics. He jumped on the opportunity to pitch and continue his academic career at Valpo.

While at Valpo, Matt will be coached by Brian Schmack who is in his third season  as head coach. Coach Scmack led Valpo to a 30-28 season last year including a 17-12 record in the Horizon League.
