GREG BLAESING - General Manager, Director of Player Development, Coach

greg-blaesingGreg graduated from Lockport Township High School in 1999 where he was a 3 year varsity starter and was named Chicago Tribune All-State and Illinois High School Baseball Coaches Association All State Player.

After high school, Greg continued his playing career at Illinois State University from 2000-2004.  There he was a 4 year letter winner and a 3 year team captain.  He was named a Louisville Slugger Freshman All American.  After college, Greg played for the Gateway Grizzlies in the Frontier League.

Greg managed both Quarry Fieldhouse in Romeoville and the Illinois Redbirds since 2010.  This summer, Greg founded Rhino Baseball with the vision that players success is in direct relation to their work ethic and belief in themselves.  Greg currently resides in Lockport with his wife April and beautiful daughter Madelynn.


Brian TehakoBrian graduated from D.C. Everest High School in 1993. He had national acclaims in marketing from the DECA organization. He received grants to attend DePaul University for marketing. His marketing focused changed very quickly after working a summer at the CBOT Exchange in 1995. He changed degrees and switched to trading futures products.

By 2004, Brian was the largest Eurex Bund trader in the world. His well known business ventures included starting York Business Associates, YesTrader, Boss Trading, and TnT Group.

Brian is an integral part of the continued success and progression of Rhino Baseball.

ANDREW TEHAKO - Operations Manager and Recruiting Coordinator, Coach

greg-blaesingAndrew graduated from D.C. Everest High School in 2005 in which he lettered in both baseball and football, winning the Wisconsin State Championship in the latter. 

He continued his education at DePaul University where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics with a minor in Management. Continuing his love for baseball, he played for DePaul University’s club team and the Everest Merchants in the Dairyland League. Upon graduation, Andrew assisted in the creation of TnT Group where he became a proprietary trader as well as the Strategic Allocations Manager and Head of Marketing.

Coaching for 5 years Andrew has had the privilege to coach a number of Division I players. 

Andrew has been the lead on the Rhino website design and updates, social media efforts, uniform designs, and marketing efforts for Rhino Baseball. He is also the recruiting coordinator for the program and has overseen, just in 2016 alone, 26 Rhino players and their committments to colleges including to teams in the SEC, BIG10, Horizon League and the Ohio Valley Conference.

He currently resides in New Lenox with his wife Mallory and two children, Abigel and Declan. 

CHRIS TIERNEY - Head Pitching Coordinator, Associate Scout for Cleveland Indians, Coach

TIERNEYChris spent over 10 years playing minor league baseball.

After graduating from Lockport, Chris received a scholarship from the University of Arkansas.

He passed the opportunity to play college ball after being drafted in the 7th round by the Kansas City Royals. He spent time with the Kansas City Royals, San Diego Padres, Joliet Jackhammers, and Laredo Broncos.

Chris has great knowledge of pitching mechanics as well as how to increase velocity. At 6’6”, Chris has topped out in the upper 90’s, and knows how to teach power pitching. What makes Chris invaluable to the program is his ability to properly and successfully indentify mechanical flaws and help players make adjustments.

Chris, as of 2013, is an associate scout for the Cleveland Indians. 

JEFF STANEK - Head Hitting Coordinator, Head Coach


Jeff played three years in the Arizona Diamondbacks minor league system. He was a four year letterman, team captain, and 1st team Missouri Valley Conference member at Southern Illinois University. He was an All-State player at Lockport Township High School and a teammate of Coach Blaesing.

Jeff has ten years of professional instructions and high school coaching experience. Jeff has coached at Naperville Central, Lockport, and at Bradley-Bourbonnais Community High School.

Jeff's philosophy on baseball is to develop a complete player who can succeed at the next level. Jeff currently resides in Bourbonnais with his wife Nicole and has three beautiful daughters, Kendal, Kylie, and Kamryn.



MARK PANOZZO - Co-Youth Coordinator, Coach


Mark Panozzo came to Rhino Baseball in 2014 where he was asked to help develop a special group of young baseball players. 

Mark graduated from Andrew High School in 1995 and played for the legendary coach Frank Ganser. Mark wasn’t the biggest guy, but his ability to play multiple positions kept his bat in the lineup. 

Although his baseball career was cut short due to shoulder injuries, he never stopped playing the game he loves. 

After his baseball playing career was over, he continued to play and manage competitive softball teams. During his softball career, was member of teams that won multiple ASA, NSA and USSSA state and national championships from 2000-2007. 

He began his youth coaching career in 2000. He was asked by St. Rita pitching Coach Vince Fiore to be an assistant on his staff. During his time with Coach Fiore, he gained a wealth of knowledge about pitching and defense. In 2001 he was asked to manage the 13U and 14U Chicago Heights Travel teams. During his 2 years with Chicago Heights, his teams won back to back Pony sectional and state Championships in 2001-2002. 

Mark has a strong passion for coaching young athletes and believes that if you do the “little things right, good things will happen”.

Mark currently resides in Homer Glen with his Wife Maggie, son Peyton and daughter Allie.


MATT HINES - Instructor, Coach

After graduating from Coal City High School in 1999, Matt went to Illinois State University, where he worked out of the bullpen and as a starter from 1999-2001.

Hines was drafted in the 20th Round of the 2002 MLB Draft by the Chicago Cubs out of Olivet Nazarene University. For 2 seasons, he pitched out of the bullpen for the Arizona Cubs(rookie), Boise Hawks(short season) and Lansing Lugnuts(low-a). In 2004, he was named a Frontier League All-Star while playing for the Windy City Thunderbolts. He spent the rest of the 2004 season playing in the Twins Organization for the Quad City Swing(low-a) and Ft. Meyers Miracle(high-a).

Since 2002, Matt has coached basketball and baseball at both Coal City High School and Wilmington High School. He has coached all levels of high school and junior high basketball. As a varsity assistant baseball coach at Coal City, Matt was a part of 7 regional championships, 2 sectionals championships, and a 4th place finish in state in 7 seasons. Currently the sophomore baseball coach at Wilmington High School, he has been on the coaching staff for 3 regional championships.

Matt has given private lessons for all ages for over a decade and had also coached a fall league team in the CF Swingtown league for 2 years.

Hines is currently in his 6th year teaching in the Wilmington School District, where he has taught Drivers Education and Physical Education.


JIM HALL - Advisor

greg-blaesingJim Hall coached at Lockport Township High School for 32 Years.  Coach Hall was head coach for 16 years winning 10 Conference Championships in the prestigious SICA West Conference (Now Southwest Suburban).  Under Coach Hall's direction, the Porters won 448 games over 16 years.  The Porters also won 6 regional titles, made 3 state championship appearances, and won the State Championship in 2005.

Coach Hall has been inducted into the Illinois High School Coaches Hall of Fame, Marist Hall of Fame, and the American Baseball Coaches Hall of Fame.

Coach is also currently a board member with the Pitch & Hit Club of Chicago and with the Old Timers Baseball Association of Will County. He is the treasurer of the Illinois High School Baseball Coaches Association and conducts the annual Plainfield South Showcase which brings over 60 major colleges every year. Throughout his 15 year career as Head Coach at Lockport alone, he has seen over 75 of his players play collegiate baseball.  He is also currently the head coach for Team Illinois.  We are very happy to have Coach Hall aboard as an advisor to Rhino Baseball.

ANDY "SQUEEZE" ZWIRCHITZ - Wisconsin Director of Player Development, Coach

squeezeAndy started his baseball career while playing at Appleton East High School in Wisconsin.

At Appleton East Andy was named the 1994 Wisconsin Gatorade Player of the Year. Continuing his baseball career, Andy signed a full scholarship with Northwest Florida Community College.

After playing at Northwest Florida CC, Andy went on to sign a full scholarship letter of intent with the University of Miami Hurricanes.

Being a draft pick of the Cincinnati Reds out of high school and then being a draft pick of the New York Mets out of college, Andy ended up playing for both the Atlanta Braves and the Seattle Mariners organizations as well as numerous Atlantic League teams. 

Andy is also the Fox Valley Area Scout for Prep Baseball Report. 

RANDI MALLARD - Wisconsin Pitching Instructor, Coach

mallardRandi has 8 years of professional experience as a player.

He was drafted by the Los Angeles Angels and the Cincinnati Reds (2nd Round) and also spent time with the Chicago Cubs Organization.  

During his playing career Randi was an 4 time All-Star ( 3 times in the Atlantic League and once in the Midwest League with the Burlington Bees.)

A Tampa, FL native now resides in Oshkosh with his wife and son.


PATRICK VAN DAALWYK - Wisconsin Operations Manager & Wisconsin Pitching Instructor

Van Daalwyk

Patrick Van Daalwyk comes to Rhino Wisconsin after pitching at Ripon College for four years. 

While a Red Hawk, Patrick ended his career as third in school history for career innings pitched with 239.1 and is tied for fourth in school history with 32 career starts. 

In 2013, 2014 and 2015, Patrick was MWC North All-Conference  and was a member of the MWC Championship team along with a NCAA playoff participant. 

In the summer of his freshman and sophomore years Patrick pitched for the Richmond River Rats in the Prospect League and going into his senior year he pitched in the Northwoods League for the Saint Cloud Rox and Wisconsin Woodchucks. 

Patrick majored in Sports Management.


CODY HEIMAN - Wisconsin Hitting and Defensive Instructor

Cody is an Appleton East High School Almumi where he then continued his baseball and academic career at Upper Iowa University. While at UI Cody played 2B and in 2013 appeared in 27 games and had a .915 fielding percentage and a .411 OBP. 

Over the years Cody has helped run local youth camps and has expereience as a facility supervisor. 




DAVID ASHER - Wisconsin Pitching Instructor


David started his baseball career while playing at University High School in Orlando, FL. Signing a full scholarship

to attend University of Central Florida as a LHP. He was then drafted in the 33rd round by the Cincinnati Reds, and opted out of his scholarship to attend South Florida Junior College.

After his 2 years, he signed a full scholarship to attend Florida International University as a starting pitcher. After his senior year, he was drafted in the 8th round by the Seattle Mariners. David played 5 years with the Mariners at every level. From being a starter to a left handed specialist he learned all facets of the game. 

David still continues to help young athletes to get to the next level. He now resides with his wife and daughter in Menasha.
